Being smart with $$ -- Famous stock picker says just buy index funds

Famous mutual fund manager Jeff Vinik said to buy low-cost Index Funds (unmanaged, mostly static portfolios of investments) instead of high-fee actively-managed mutual funds.  He said it's too hard for active managers to beat the index (CNBC TV 3/10/16).  This is advice from someone who successfully beat out index funds for years at Fidelity.  But now he says the market has changed and it's harder.
